HESLO Levels Overview

Pilot Progression
Before HESLO Training
- Minimum 10h on helicopter type
Before Acting as PIC (under supervision)
- Complete previous HESLO level
- Complete required flight instruction (hours + cycles)
Before Acting as Unsupervised PIC
- Complete ground training + reviewed specialist syllabus
- Complete supervised missions + minimum flight experience
Human External Cargo (HEC)

- 500h HESLO, 10h as unsupervised PIC at relevant level
- “Teaching & learning” component or prior aerial work instructor experience
HEC Instructor
- 100+ cycles in HEC ops at equal or higher level
- “Teaching & learning” component or prior aerial work instructor experience
